Why is BigPatentData so inexpensive?
BigPatentData is equal parts business and passion project. It has no mouths to feed. No massive sales and marketing teams to support, and no investors lurking over its shoulder. The goal is to build a product that any patent prosecutor or portfolio manager – regardless of the size of her employer – can actually afford. Legal technology should not only be available to those who can sign 5 or 6 figure annual contracts. If you are a technology early adopter in an organization of laggards, you should be able to sign up without some painful purchasing or budgetary approval process. The big goal here is to get everybody using data and tools to make patent prosecution more efficient and more transparent, which hopefully will lead to a stronger overall patent system.
How Do BigPatentData's features stack up against the bigger players?
Honestly? It’s hard to say. They like to keep their products shrouded in a bit of mystery jealously guarded by “schedule a demo” buttons. If there is some data or feature you are looking for, just shoot me an email. If I don’t have it I just may build it for you if I find it interesting.
